On May 15, 2000, the building was purchased by Bob Carnahan,
who saw a potential number of uses in the historic building.
Formerly of Park City, Utah, Carnahan became a permanent
resident of the Gorge a few years ago. Bob and his son
Mike, faced with the daunting task of renovating a 37,500
square foot building, immediately went to work on structural
improvements.
The first phase of the project entailed renovating the
highly visible corner of the first floor into retail space,
now leased by Windwing Design sail company.
The opening of River City Saloon completes the second
phase of the project. The Saloon has been completely updated,
yet conserves some relics of the buildings and the
old saloons history.
Plans to transform the second and third floors (7,500 sq.
ft each) into commercial office space, and the fourth floor
into custom condominiums will materialize in future phases
of the renovation.
